I’ve seen lots of posts (and made one myself) commending Yang’s strength in the finale. It’s all rightfully deserved, but I think we shouldn’t forget about the strength of her little sister.

Ruby went through a lot of trauma at the Fall of Beacon. She watched friends die, her sister lose an arm and saw the school she dreamed of attending crumble.

The darkness of Remnant hit Ruby hard and yet she was the first one to pick up her weapon again and set back out into the fight. She went to Haven with little knowledge of what she was getting into or what might happen to her, all because she believed it was the right thing to do - because she couldn’t sit back and let bad things happen to people without trying to fix them.

Truth be told, Haven probably wouldn’t have been saved if Ruby hadn’t been as determined as she was to get there and help. If, as Jaune put it, she hadn’t given them all the strength to keep going. So while we admire Yang’s strength, let’s not forget that the message of Volume 5 represents all four members of our team, and especially their leader.
